19th October 2006 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 20-25 knots Surf / Sea State: 1 foot surf Air Temperature: 16ºC Sea Temperature: 15ºC Weather: Mainly sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Looked as though the day would be a wash out this morning with rain and little wind, so I got down to work whilst Jonny sat in the living room watching DVD's... Thinsg changed around 11am though when the wind got up and the sun came out so we headed across to the beach for a windsurfing session. I started on my 5m and Naish Hybrid Freewave, which was just perfect, a few runs like that and I went in to tell Jonny that 5m was just right. Went back out and things were now a little marginal.A few more runs and the wind had disappeared. I packed up the 5m and sat there for a while, then it looked as though the wind might come back a little so I rigged my 5.7m and had another go. To start with it was a little marginal on the inside, but it soon picked up and once again I was perfectly powered and having a good session. Jonny was nicely powered and going well too. It then got a little too much for a while but I couldn't be bothered to change back down so just held on and hoped for the best. A good session, the water is still nice and warm, the winds were good and the sun was shining. No huge jumps or particularly good waves to play on but nice all the same. |
